What is it about?

In industry, it is usually important to improve the throwing power of the electroplating baths. In our study, we introduced p-anisidine (PA) and/or sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate as a possible means of improving the uniformity of deposit distribution. We utilized electrochemical studies as well as the characterization of the deposit using SEM to confirm our claim.

Why is it important?

Adding organic compounds is one of the most effective and most frequently used methods to improve both the quality of the deposits and the throwing power of electrolytic baths.

Perspectives

I hope this paper opens the door for searching other effectively organic compounds which could be useful in the industry to improve the throwing power of the electroplating baths.
