What is it about?
Using the Naviglio extractor it is possible to extract very pure lycopene from tomato by-products, since it is found in paracrystalline form.

Why is it important?
This process of solid-liquid extraction of lycopene allows to isolate lycopne at a very high purity major than 98% (w/w) and it can be used as laboratoy standard.
Perspectives
In my opinion, this low-impact process can be used to valorize tomato by-products, obtaining a high added value compound such as all-trans lycopene.
