What is it about?

When cells can no longer function properly, they eventually die. Abnormailities in these normal cell-death processes can contribute to diseases such as cancer. However, these same cell-death processes can also be used to fight cancer. Immunogenic Cell Death (ICD), can make cancer cells more visible to the immune system, encouraging it to specifically recognize and attack cancer cells. Understanding how ICD works could help researchers develop new effective cancer treatments.
