What is it about?
Big data is now an important source of information that addresses many demands of users - granularity and faster release of information. Official statistics of countries experience these demands and need to adapt using new sources of information. The paper presents actual use of big data in the Philippines and suggests a framework for big data in official statistics to jumpstart its actual use. This framework is envisioned to be dynamic and will change as official statistics are actually produced using big data.
