Why is it important?

Having come into effect from January 1, 2014, there is a pressing need to build scholarship around the operational aspects of The RFCTLARR Act, 2013 for the benefit of policy framers, regulators, researchers, academicians, practitioners and civil society. The study identifies capacity deficit of SIA agencies and bureaucratic inertia as major challenges to the effective implementation of the law.

Perspectives

I hope this article will draw attention to the vital need for strengthening the institutional and human resource capacities to ensure that the land acquisition process mandated in the Act is followed in letter and spirit.
