What is it about?

The lockdowns imposed by countries due to COVID-19 pandemic had enormous impact on healthcare. This article examines the impact of lockdown specifically on community newborn admissions. It´s important to understand if there is less illness, the type of illness and if there was a longer waiting time to go to the hospital. The newborn population is very particular!

Why is it important?

This paper is particular because it is one of the few (and perhaps the first) to detail the impact of the COVID19 lockdown on the neonatal population coming from the community.

Perspectives

I hope that it will boost knowledge about COVID-19 and that more studies will emerge in the neonatal population.
