What is it about?

We found that use of inotropes is associated with higher mortality and/or brain injury after adjusting for confounding factors

Why is it important?

This led to practice change of protocol drivin hemodynamic management combining clinical, physiological and lab markers . This resulted in significant reduction in our inotropes use and mortality and/or brain injury

Perspectives

I think it’s time to put hard brakes on inotropes use and consider it as driving through red light : only for emergencies
