What is it about?

Vocational rehabilitation and child and adult mental health services each help to support adolescents and young adults (transition-age youth) with serious mental health conditions to achieve their work- and school-related goals. In this study, we interviewed leaders from those services and asked them how they work together to support transition-age youth and what makes working together easier or more difficult. We found that leaders in vocational rehabilitation and child and adult mental health do not know enough about each other's services and how they work. Additionally, the leaders do not always agree about the needs of transition-age youth. We suggest some possible ways that these three systems could learn more about each other and improve collaboration to better support transition-age youth.
