Value of neuropsychological tests for diagnosing Alzheimer Disease depending on depressive symptoms

What is it about?

It has been shown before, that the validity of neuropsychological tests to discriminate between people with and without Alzheimer's disease differ in depressed and non-depressed patients. In this work, we wanted to extend these findings beyond the dichotomy depressed/non-depressed. For this, we formed three groups of people with low, medium and a high number of depressive symptoms and analysed, how well different neuropsychological tests can differentiate between patients with and without AD-typical changes in cerebrospinal fluid.
