What is it about?

We searched for a simple and cost effective diagnostic tool that may predict a future Alzheimer's disease at a very early stage, to allow clinicians to adopt therapeutic measures as soon as possible

Why is it important?

Alzheimer's disease is one of the most challenging medical battles for future years. To diagnose it at very early disease stages is mandatory to adopt really effective therapeutic strategies that can modify the disease course. A cost effective but reliable diagnostic tool is necessary for future clinical trials testing for new experimental drugs.

Perspectives

I think this work might represent a useful step to elaborate a simple diagnostic tool that could be useful in future clinical trials. Further studies with larger and independent samples of patients are needed to validate these preliminary data
