What is it about?

Depression that has not improved after trials of medication has been labeled "treatment-resistant depression." Research has shown that certain time-limited psychotherapies also effectively treat depression; and they may treat different (if overlapping) groups of individuals suffering from depression. Yet the various definitions of "treatment-resistant depression" have not not generally included psychotherapy. The authors, experts in treating depressive disorders, argue that this is an omission that should be corrected.
