What is it about?

We designed a new measure that can be used by staff to measure conflict in healthcare.

Why is it important?

Conflict between families/patients and staff is distressing to everyone. Often the conflict can take on a life of it's own which detracts from providing best possible care to the patient. We developed this measure so that staff could get a handle on conflict, in order that they could assess whether strategies to manage conflict were working.

Perspectives

We have had a lot of interest in this project internationally and across different clinical specialities. We really hope it gets used. Our team is dedicated to improving care for families/patients, and to improving the working lives of clinicians.
