Why is it important?
This article explores whether the availability of a large number of tools for neural machine translation could be sufficient to establish its use and practices within the formalization of a linguistic right supported by technology.
Perspectives
To implement a virtuous management of linguistic diversity supported by technology, it is essential to enact specific language policies that promote linguistic and cultural diversity, invest heavily in R&D for more inclusive language models, and foster continuous dialogue between institutions, universities, and research centers. These efforts aim to develop educational policies that promote critical thinking about new tools and raise awareness of underlying linguistic discrimination issues.
