Perspectives
HMAV "Bounty" mutineer, Edward Young, entered service as a midshipman who was recommended to Captain William Bligh by Admiral Sir George Young. Despite this rank and notable social connection, very little is known of Edward Young's genealogy. Often detectable for what he isn't in the literature as what he is, I believe this research is the most complete to-date in revealing his pedigree. In so doing, the paper also contributes to the ongoing discussion of whether his St. Kittian linguistic roots inordinately influenced the development of the Pitcairn Island language.
