What is it about?

Transformation is important for a better life. In Malaysia, Government Transformation Program (GTP) is established to transform government services towards faster and quicker results to the people. This program emphasizes the change in the attitude of civil servants to work more diligently and people-oriented. How far the people feel the change and accept the program? The acceptance factors are classified by urban and rural residents.

Why is it important?

This research is to analyze whether there is a difference in the acceptance factor of the government transformation program among urban and rural communities. It is to determine the different attitudes of the people in socioeconomic background to the acceptance of the government transformation program.

Perspectives

Prior to 14th General Election in Malaysia, there were different support for the government party in the urban and rural communities. The rural community is seen to be more pro to the ruling party while urban is more to opposition. Hence this may affect the acceptance of these two groups on programs run by the government.
