Why is it important?

The first discourse analysis book on Bahrain's political dialogue, examining a special case, when religious parties dominated the parliament in Bahrain, reflecting the sectarian division in the country. The book features the period just before the unrest taking place during what was misnamed as 'the Arab Spring', a wave that affected Bahrain too but in a different way. This makes the book an exploration of the pre-existing conditions of the unrest period in the country.

Perspectives

The book addresses differences and variety within the Bahraini community and stressed the importance of dialogue to overcome conflicts. It is important to acknowledge any differences or conflicts within a community in order to be able to find solutions to create harmony among different components of the community. Politics should play a role in that, and this is possible if each understand the other's background and perspectives.
