What is it about?
Prosodic highlight in continuous speech is mostly associated with new and focal information. However, we proposed a novel exploration of prosodic highlights and demonstrated that more crucially they can be incorporated by speakers to project the allocation of key information in the speech production. By corpus linguistic approach, we examined speech data of 4 different speech genres in order to confirm the significance of prosodic highlight-prompted projection in continuous speech.
