What is it about?

This thesis makes a review of New Directions in Cognitive Grammar and Style (Marcello Giovanelli,Chloe Harrison & Louise Nuttall (eds.),2021). The most distinctive feature of the book is that it extends Cognitive Grammar to non-literary contexts, multimodal contexts, and educational contexts for the first time. In the process of analysis, it deepens the study of cognitive stylistics to more complex humancognition, such as subjectivity, intentionality, and multi-sensory simulation,etc.. At the same time, it also analyzes ideology and morality. The publication of this book not only enlightens the development of cognitive stylistics in China, but also urges us to think about how to develop cognitive stylistics with Chinese characteristics.
