What is it about?

Henning Hildensen, a former member of the young university of Prague at the end of the 14th and the beginning of the 15th centuries, afterwards one of the first professors in the new founded university of Leipzig (1409), was a representative of the so called "via moderna" in the early 15th century. He created an extensive commentary on the "Isagoge" of Porphyrios. This first edition of the most important chapters of that text referring to the disputation on universals gives us an informative impression of the philosophical landscape at the beginning of the 15th century in central Europe and last but not least of Hildensen´s specific contribution to an international philosophical debate.
