Why is it important?
This article aims at contributing to the theoretical foundations of a science of culture.
Perspectives
The study of culture is lacking in theoretical perspectives. It has been my aim to contribute such a perspective, which attempts at explaining culture in a non-circular way (that is, without implicitly or explicitly relying on the notion of culture to explain culture).
