What is it about?

Narrative language has characteristics that make it important for educational success. In addition, stories offer rich contexts for social knowledge. Many people with autism struggle to comprehend and create narratives; this review discusses why narrative might be difficult, what guidance is available for assessing it, and what approaches to treatment have evidence to support them. A clinical case example is offered to illustrate the points made.
