What is it about?
Fenestrated tracheostomy tube is a special type of tracheostomy tube with an opening on the outer superior aspect of the tracheostomy tube. It is used to help patients to create a voice and enable speech. However, it also has challenges with development of abnormal tissue growth at the site of the opening in the trachea.
