What is it about?

Electrocochleography continues to be an important tool in the diagnosis, assessment and monitoring of inner ear/auditory nerve disorders. In this manuscript we report that ECochG is not only an important tool for helping to diagnose Meniere's disease, but also shows promise for predicting this disorder in genetically pre-disposed individuals. Second, we offer a series of case studies wherein ECochG was helpful in diagnosing superior semicircular canal dehiscence and monitoring the surgical repair of this condition. Finally, we present normative results from a large population for some of the more important components of the electrocochleogram.
