What is it about?
Hypodermic needles is the most common form of administering drugs through the transdermal route. This method, however, is painful and isn't patient compliant. Microneedles offer an exciting alternative because it is non-invasive, less expensive and can be self-administered. This paper tends to provide a foundational knowledge about what microneedles is, the fabrication techniques, delivery methods and future perspectives of microneedles.

Why is it important?
We explained in detail the fabrication methods of microneedles and the several delivery methods it can be used for.
Perspectives
The simplicity and suitability of this tool make it an interesting concept in the transdermal delivery of drugs. Hence, it will have a huge impact on how compounds are transported into the body through the skin.
