What is it about?
The plant Leonotis nepetifolia is generally considered as weed and few work regarding its phytochemical and medicinal properties have been done. But the ecological aspect of the particular plant is underestimated. This plant grows in stressful conditions of coal mine fire area, O.B. dump area and subsidence area of coal field where most of the plants fail to survive due to unfavorable environmental and edaphic conditions. The present paper have dealt with the ecological adaptation of the plant in the form of its phenology.

Why is it important?
Our findings show how the plants are well adapted to different stressful areas by the strategy of early flowering and producing seeds and growing at an abnormal pace.
Perspectives
Writing this research paper with my supervisor was an awesome experience. The article provided a new insight about the adaptation of the plants growing in stressful conditions
