What is it about?
The new algorithm proposed in the paper can produce the mangrove maps faster, avoid manual digitization, more accurate, save more energy, cost, and time.

Why is it important?
To date, the method for capturing and mapping the mangrove is done through manual digitizing, following the appearance of the satellite image, and mapping the mangrove index is using the existing algorithm. There has been no translation algorithm yet to capture the presence of mangrove as seen in the satellite images and shows the canopy density index automatically satisfactorily. Therefore, here we propose a new automatic method for producing mangrove maps as well as its extent and conditions based on the canopy density.
Perspectives
We hope this paper can help the mangrove researchers shorten and save time in separating mangrove and non-mangrove vegetation accurately.
