Why is it important?

Delayed mastery of all verbal skills past the age of 7 renders learning of all subject matters more difficult, which is likely to cause the type of problems generally associated to ADD/ADHD, leading to potentially unjustified prescription of psychostimulant drugs to children.

Perspectives

This field study seems to reveal that psychostimulant drugs prescription and diagnoses of ADD/ADHD is medication used mainly to restore "order" and "calm" in the school system.
