What is it about?
Monosodium glutamate is well known flavour enhancer. We have shown the toxic effects (cytotoxicity, free radical generation, and genotoxicity) of MSG on human neuronal cells, which provide information to us this chemical in limited amount. We also used the Celastrus paniculatus seeds extract to mitigate its effect and found potent herbal medicine for neuronal impairment or neurodegenerative diseases. For this we have used IMR-32 human neuronal cells as model.
