Why is it important?

Existing literature on Ghana’s democratic consolidation focuses mainly on ensuring fundamental human rights and creating the necessary platform for citizens political participation neglecting the critical role the Electoral Commission of Ghana plays. This paper thus focuses on the EC's role in enhancing democratic consolidation.

Perspectives

It is the author's desire that people will take a keen interest in the work of various election management bodies (EMBs). These bodies, might hold the key to preventing and resolving some unnecessary election-related conflicts. This would mean that people contribute meaningfully to expected electoral reforms in diverse ways.
