What is it about?
This study aimed to determine the physicochemical properties and fatty acids' composition of O. basilicum seed oil to increase their economic feasibility of future commercial cultivation and products of this herb.

Why is it important?
Ocimum basilicum has been widely used in traditional medicine. Rural communities have used fixed oils for variety purposes since a long time ago. They used for cosmetic applications, fuel, medicine and food.
Perspectives
Ocimum basilicum seeds are abundant oil source for many industrial applications, especially, for applications that require acids like linolenic and linoleic.
