What is it about?
Orange G and phenol Red dyes are among the toxic dyes contained in textile industrial effluents. They constitute serious pollution problem when the effluents are discharged into land and water bodies without adequate treatment. This paper investigates the removal of these dyes from wastewater through adsorption process

Why is it important?
Palm kernel shell (PKS) which is a waste product of agricultural processes was converted into activated carbon using zinc chloride solution. The activated carbon was used to remove these dyes in an adsorption process. Different kinetic and isotherm models were evaluated. This work is important because it focuses on waste to wealth creation
