What is it about?

In order to promote catalysis there is the need for effective contact between the substrate and enzyme as against repulsive term or unbinding which where applicable may imply low affinity of the enzyme for the substrate.

Why is it important?

The paper goes to show that kinetic constant can be influenced by the degree of interaction between substrate and enzyme and by extension between drug and enzyme also.

Perspectives

The notion that substrate unbinding may speed up enzyme catalysed reaction seem to be contradicted.
