What is it about?
This paper provides a detailed laboratory and field account of the pest's daily activity patterns. It also reveals the effects of climatic factors on the pest's behavior

Why is it important?
Cosmopolites sordidus is the major insect pest of banana and plantain crops globally. Information on this pest's behavioral patterns (i.e. daily activity cycle) is scanty. Such information is crucial for planning laboratory and field works on the pest; and more importantly, for timing more effective control options against the pest
Perspectives
This work provided opportunity for wonderful interactions with several scientists/colleagues that worked either on other aspects of the pest, and/or on the Musa crop itself. This shall soon translate into some very beautiful collaborative research works.
