Why is it important?

To enable radiation workers to see the danger inherent in operating any radiation machine without wearing the required monitoring devices. To stress the importance of providing radiation monitoring devices for personnel, who are actively engaged in radiation practice. Personnel monitoring is an important aspect of radiation protection of radiation workers.

Perspectives

It is mandatory for radiation workers to have knowledge of their occupational exposure through the monitoring devices they put on during work hours. This will allow them to compare their exposure per annum with the ICRP recommended dose limit for radiation workers. Any worker that is actively engaged in radiation practice without this monitoring device is denied of this important aspect of radiation protection.
