What is it about?
We evaluated the nutritional properties and heavy metal concentrations of land snails and clams. On the aspects on the nutritional properties, proximate contents of the snails were high and both the micro and micro minerals were significantly high. Heavy metals assessed especially the most poisonous metals (Hg,As,Pb) were below detectable limit.

Why is it important?
The research is important in food safety
Perspectives
The safety of most of the aquatic and terrestrial foods we consume is questionable because of various industrial activities taken place in these environment. So the bio accumulation of toxic metals are inevitable. Therefore, continues assessment of toxic metals is advised for safe consumption.
