Why is it important?
Understanding about health and staying healthy is important for empowering people with learning disabilities to take some control over their own health. The delivery of this course explored peoples knowledge before the course began and compared their knowledge when the course completed. The evidence suggested there was an increase in knowledge following the course. However we followed up the group 6 months following the course to explore the sustainability of the knowledge gained and found that there was little change to their daily lives.
