I have been a CNS for acute pain and have found that when older people experience pain both the healthcare professionals and the older person tend to under-estimate its impact on both recovery form an illness and quality of life. In addition they do not always appreciate importance of managing pain. I hoped to raise awareness of assessment for this group of patients leading to improved practice
