Why is it important?
When any new intervention is put in place it is important both for the users of service and the delivering organisation to evaluate both to find out if it is effective or whether changes need to be made to make it better.
Perspectives
This was a worthwhile exercise as it gave us the perspective both from the organisational perspective and from the people who use the service. The delivery of the annual health checks showed that it had improved access to primary care for people with learning disabilities and improved communication between all parties involved.
