Why is it important?

There is ample evidence from National enquiries that people with learning disabilities do not always have access to palliative care in the same way as the general population and this can be aligned to services working in isolation of each other without joined up process that enable services to work together.

Perspectives

Working in partnership with palliative care services enabled a process for the delivery of care at end of life to be developed so that people with learning disabilities can receive good quality of care at end of life.
