What is it about?

We report an outbreak of sarcoptic mange in Arabian oryx and gave an example how to control such an outbreak using medicated pellets.

Why is it important?

Sarcoptic mange is highly contageous. If not controlled, it may kill the host, especially under harsh conditions of the Arabian desert.

Perspectives

It is necessary to monitor the health status of the oryx by periodical visits to the fields and to intervene.
