What is it about?
This article is about the long-term effects that digital video games could have on high school students' vocabulary learning. The new generation knows digital media as an inseparable phenomena hard-stuck to their lives. At times. parents struggle to turn off the computer and have the children study their books. While video games may never replace textbooks, new investigations show that children could actually benefit from them. This is one such investigation.

Why is it important?
This article points out how children may benefit from playing video games in terms of learning some new second language vocabulary. As such, it suggests ways in which children, teachers, and parents might want to use to make video games a tool for education rather than solely being a "game".
Perspectives
Working with children and focusing on video games is such a fun, energetic, and productive activity in many ways. When I showed them how they could use the games for vocabulary learning, many became so interested that even tried to brag about it around their friends from other schools that "our teacher lets us play games at school".
