What is it about?

We can recall what happened where and when in our mind. Place-cells showing place-specific firing patterns at a certain location are considered to be a neuronal substrate for such episodic memory ability. My publication unveiled that where and when components were hierarchically ranked higher than what happened in the episodic-like memory. The hierarchical organization might enable us to quickly search and separate similar episodes from huge amounts of autobiographical memory in our mind.
