What is it about?
Patients with stroke were high-risk groups on incidence of aspiration, either due to loss of consciousness or swallowing disorder. Nurses behavior plays an important role to prevent aspiration in stroke patients.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that most of nurses had sufficient level of knowledge (43,6%), positive attitude (96,2%), and good action (60,3%) to prevent aspiration in stroke patients. This is important in stroke patient care, to decrease mortality rate of them. The manager of care in stroke ward and hospitals should make continuing education for nurses to increase their knowledge, attitudes, and actions to give better nursing care for patients stroke.
