What is it about?
We tested blood samples from 352 staff members across Khyber Medical University institutions in February and March 2021. Using an ELISA antibody test, 58.2% were positive for IgG and 1.7% for IgM. Administrative staff had the highest IgG positivity at 60.7%, and more than half of participants reported no symptoms.

Why is it important?
The findings show substantial past exposure among staff while the university remained operational during the pandemic. Serological surveys can complement diagnostic testing, identify groups with greater exposure and guide infection-control planning, while follow-up is needed to understand how long antibodies persist.
Perspectives
From my perspective, this work matters because The findings show substantial past exposure among staff while the university remained operational during the pandemic. I hope the findings support further research and informed, evidence-based decisions.
