What is it about?

Proofreading is a time-consuming task, relying on a human skill. It is perhaps taken too lightly by busy academics. We urge academic authors, especially those at the beginning of their careers with less experience, to make time available to do the proofreading justice. Why is it important?

With more and more publishers using AI in the journal production process and fewer human proofreaders working in publishing houses the chances of mistakes creeping in your draft paper or book chapter are increasing. It is important to spent appropriate time and attention to your proofs when they arrive from the editor's office. It is a necessary and important final task in getting your work into print.
