Assessing Emotional Intelligence among Business Graduates in Bangladesh

What is it about?

This study aims at identifying the level of emotional intelligence of Bangladeshi business graduates. This study used a quantitative cross-sectional research method to explore the factors concerning emotional intelligence of the business graduates in the Northern Region of Bangladesh.

Why is it important?

There is a paramount importance of emotional intelligence for the business graduates in Bangladesh for jobs and developing entrepreneurial businesses. It is the determinant that helps in starting careers for the business graduates. It is a recently developed knowledge that encourages the individuals to think and act rationally and purposefully to perceive their thoughts and the feelings of others before making career decisions. On the other hand, intelligence quotient (IQ), plays an important role in the realization of emotions, which leads them to gather skills regarding diligence, adaptability, influencing others, and self-confidence. Hence, ensuring quality in education at the tertiary level of education is essential to develop emotional intelligence among the business graduates is a must that also support Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4) and the upgrad standard of living of any country. The absence of a proper policy for quality education, the continuing outdated course curricula and improper actions taken against corruption and nepotism create barriers to achieve that excellence in quality learning for the suitable careers of the aspirants.
