What is it about?

This study found that UCU's Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives (VMGO) need better communication with students. Clearer sharing can boost honesty, teamwork, and impact, helping build a stronger, more united, and values-driven university community.

Why is it important?

It’s important because the VMGO guides a university's plans, actions, and goals. When students understand and connect with it, they feel more involved, act with integrity, work better together, and help the university make a real impact.

Perspectives

It’s important because the VMGO shapes the heart of our university’s mission. As a teacher who deeply believes in UCU’s core values—integrity, teamwork, competence, and transcendence—I see it as my responsibility to help bring these values to life. When students truly understand the VMGO, they don’t just follow rules—they grow into individuals who act with purpose, respect others, strive for excellence, and aim to make a difference. That’s the kind of learning environment I want to be part of and help create.
