What is it about?
This paper explores selected major projects, softwares, policies, standards being followed worldwide and the organisations engaged in the research. It concludes that effort needs to be made for the development of globally accepted standards, policies, and infrastructure for the conversion of digital content so that the digital curation skills of researchers and information professionals could be developed.

As the rate of creation of information in digital and non-digital formats has posed many challenges of management and reuse of such information/ documents. All along, the digital documents are gaining more importance at global level. Thereby, the "digital curation" has become buz-word and receiving wide popularity among the researchers across the disciplines.
Perspectives
In today's digital context, for LIS fraternity and information professionals, the Knowledge of digital curation has become one of the most important and most relevance pre-requisite in carrying their day-to-day activities concerned to knowledge.
