What is it about?
Caste hierarchy in a village setting is widely dealt subject. But how this social factor behave with intervention of new agricultural technology in rural setting is least studied area. The paper attempt to understand the pattern in caste hierarchy and its interactions with the changing agricultural technology.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that the caste hierarchy has important relationship with the use of technology in agricultural operations. It influences the status, class and socio-economic patters of caste group. With a result of this particular caste group ( generally of middle order) shows slightly change in their hierarchical pattern. Of course other factor also combined this issue but technological factor remain one of the most imperative in this regard.
Perspectives
It is part of my Ph.D project and result of eleven month field work in a north Indian village. Participant observation with a detailed ethnographic account of the village and its habitation.
