What is it about?

Lead is a toxic heavy metal injurious to the environment. It was shown that continuous lead contamination increased lead in soil and Fruit body emergence of mushroom P. tuber-regium was faster in lead contaminated soils. Contaminated soil recorded higher mushroom fresh weight but the bioaccumulation factor was low indicating that P tuber-regium cannot be employed in bioremediation of a continuously lead contaminated soil.

Why is it important?

contrary to other findings, continuous lead contamination improved the morphological growth of Pleurotus tuber-regium mushroom. bioaccumulation factor for lead was low.

Perspectives
